An interest group of teachers and parents, who have children in the English or bilingual (English-Finnish) schools and kindergartens in Espoo

 

EETU = Espoo English language teaching support group

 

What is EETU ?

· EETU is an association of parents, teachers and students in the city of Espoo. The interests and goals of this group are to promote and support English education in the city.
There are two types of English instruction in Espoo: English immersion, which employs dual-language instruction, and solely English education, in which instruction is in English alone.
EETU was founded in 1999. Parents and teachers from both schools and kindergartens comprise this interest group.

 

 

What does EETU do ? 

 

· keeps active contact with Espoo’s decision makers

· supports English language instruction goals and accomplishments

· discusses facts and issues of English education and makes influential decisions

· supports cooperation with teachers, parents and education officials

· gathers and relays information concerning schools, instruction, teacher resources, construction of new schools, and observations of possible problem areas.
